5 years ago, on January 14th, 2008, our hosting site was started. Since then, we have gotten new staff and partners, including partnering up with the site at fanzoom.net a couple months ago to create a better fansite host.
Since then, over 10,000 sites have been created through our hosting. (This includes personal sites and sites about any topic, subdomains, closed or archived sites and sites that are no longer active, and new fansites).
Running the network takes a lot of time, and we want to thank all the people that have helped us in any way. Personally I spend at least 60 hours/week on average (which means that there are weeks that take longer), and we have had several cowebs in the past that have also helped out a lot, in total between us all it probably takes over 100 hours/week (across server maintenance, scripts and technical support, inspections and other fansite maintenance, etc.) to keep the sites running.
Thank you for the support of all the wonderful hostees throughout the years!
We’re looking to start a site for graphics tutorials (similar to http://tutorials.fanfusion.org/, a collection of tutorials for wordpress, coppermine, getting started with your hosting account, etc.)
We’re looking for 1-3 helpers that can contribute some tutorials. We can send a gift card or payment in return for your help. It won’t be a huge amount (please don’t do this if you are just looking for money) but to give you an idea, probably around $25 for a set of 5 tutorials ($50 for 10). Some tutorials are easier than others so within a set there can be a mix of difficulty. Feel free to also contribute tutorials for free (and we can put your credit in the tutorial, there are some restrictions with linkage so ask us first if you want to do this).
Tutorial requirements:
-must be simple to follow, but detailed enough that it can be followed step by step
-screenshots for guide
-marked screenshots when needed (e.g., arrows, things circled on the screenshots)
-must be clearly written
-if it involves any software (e.g., ftp program, watermarks, etc.) should be with software that is widely used (if you are not sure ask us first)
Examples:
-How to make a gif
-How to make screencaps
-How to do a (x) effect (e.g., glow effect, etc. there can be a lot of possibitilies)
-How to install a font
-Font recommendations
-How to use a pixel font
-icons effects
-Guide to brushes
-How to cut out an image perfectly
How it’ll work:
If you would like to contribute a tutorial, please email us and give us some examples of the graphics effects that you can write a tutorial for. The topics must be approved first, please don’t send tutorials on topics that we haven’t reviewed.
This is the first time that we’re trying this so we’re not sure how it’ll go, but hopefully we can build up a tutorial resource that will be helpful for hostees when they are making their fansites :).
If you use the theme, take a screenshot and email it to us, and we’ll try to plug your site here. We want to see how people are using the themes :)
There’s more on the way. For now we’re still accepting winter themes, see this post for the winter themes design contest. If you want to submit a theme, please make sure that the theme meets the guidelines in the contest so you don’t need to make a lot of changes to it later.

We’re currently looking for hiqh quality (english) fansites on the following topics:
-one direction (domain)
-taylor swift (domain)
-personal sites on subdomains
-sites on games (e.g., sims, cut the rope, etc.)

Currently we’re looking for some help with a layout for http://tutorials.fanfusion.org/
If you want to help with this, let us know the price you’ll charge and a link to a hq example of your graphics.
If we select you to do the layout, you need to be able to do up to 3-5 revisions within 3 days from when you start.
Updated: Fulfilled, thanks to anyone that offered to help.
By default, all new accounts are automatically set up with a ready-to-use wordpress installation, so you don’t have to install it yourself (although it’s not very difficult anyways, with Softaculous). We’ve set this up because some people aren’t familiar with installations. Also some people were installing them in the wrong directory (in /wp) and having to reinstall them or needing the directories to be changed after they already started posting. Even if you haven’t used wordpress before, now you can log in and starting posting immediately :) It took 10 hours of modifying cpanel to implement this ;) We might do this for coppermine later as well. You can apply for subdomain hosting here or a domain hosting here.
If you have a high quality design site that you’d like us to to the design center, please let us know. Please note that we’re not able to add every site, only certain high quality design sites. Your site must be actively accepting orders. If you turn your orders off a lot, we may not be able to list it here.
