October’s contest will be for the break breakthrough fansite. This is a contest to help promote high quality fansites which might be unknown or new at the moment. To qualify, your site must be new or meet certain requirements, since it wouldn’t be fair for established fansites to be competing with sites that have just opened. Specifically, your site must be less than 1 year old or relatively unknown and not established yet. A total of 5 winners will be chosen, 3 fansites where the main language is english and 2 reserved specifically for international fansites. Feel free to nominate your own site or another fansite that you think should win this award.
How to enter
To enter, please post a comment here with the following:
1. The url of your fansite or the fansite you would like to nominate
2. Write something interesting here (a paragraph or two is fine). You can tell us about your fansite(s), yourself, the history of your fansite, and why you think your site should win.
Winners/Prizes
There will be a total of 5 awards. 3 awards will be for english fansites, where the main language is in english. There will also be 2 awards specifically for international fansites (where the main language is not english. That’s a total of 5 awards. :)
(If your site has multiple language versions, whether your site is considered an “english” fansite or “international” fansite will be determined by the main language version.)
All sites will receive the following:
- a shoutout in the next newletter that is sent out to all hostees
- an announcement on the main page of fanfusion.org with the links to the fansites
- shoutouts on facebook/twitter
- possibly other promotions (if you have a request or an idea of how we can promote your site, please tell us and we will try to do this)
- your site button featured on the sidebar of fanfusion.org
- a button from us that shows you won a breakthrough fansite award which you can show off on your site or add to the awards section
- a short interview from us (we’ll ask you some questions, and use your answers to help promote your site).
Guidelines:
- The site should be relatively unknown and not established yet
- Your site should be less than 1 year old (if it’s older it might be okay, as long as your site isn’t established yet)
- We will decide whether a site qualifies to enter the contest, and the winners of the contest will be chosen by us rather than by voting.
- You can enter up to 3 fansites. If you run more than 3 fansites, please choose your favorite 3 you would like to enter.
- There may be some domain name restrictions, if there is a restriction regarding your domain, we will let you know about this when you enter.
- Sites of any language are welcome.
